Comparative study of ultrasonic contrast and endoscopic ultrasonography in preoperative staging of gastric cancer

چکیده
Objective: To investigate diagnostic value and clinical significance of ultrasonic contrast and endoscopic ultrasonography in preoperative staging of gastric carcinoma. Methods: 65 patients with gastric cancer were randomly selected from our hospital from February 2015 to February 2017 as the study objects and all of them were treated with ultrasonic contrast and endoscopic ultrasonography followed by the comparison of accuracy rate of diagnosis of preoperative staging of gastric cancer between the two kinds of examination methods. Results: There was no significant difference in the accuracy rate of diagnosis of T1, T2, T3 and T4 and total consistent rate of T staging between the two methods (P>0.05); the accuracy rate of diagnosis of N1, N2 and N3 and total consistent rate of N staging of ultrasonic contrast were significantly higher than those of endoscopic ultrasonography (P<0.05) with no significant differences in the accuracy rate of diagnosis of N0 (P>0.05) between the two examinations; and the total accuracy rate in the diagnosis of M0 and M1 and total consistent rate of M staging of ultrasonic contrast were significantly higher than those of endoscopic ultrasonography (P<0.05). Conclusion: Ultrasonic contrast has some advantages in the T staging, N1, N2, N3, M1 and M0 and endoscopic ultrasonography N0, both of which therefore have good application value in diagnosis of preoperative staging of gastric cancer.

Gastric Cancer Staging: EUS And CT
INTRODUCTION Gastric cancer is the fourth most common cancer and the second leading cause of death from cancer. Only complete resection of all gross disease with negative microscopic margins (R0 resection) provides a long-term survival benefit, and the overall 5-year relative survival rate is approximately 20%. To improve survival and quality of life, new therapeutic approaches have been introd...

متن کاملLow accuracy of endoscopic ultrasonography for detailed T staging in gastric cancer
BACKGROUND The accuracy of endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS) for preoperative staging of gastric cancer varies. The aim of this study was to investigate the accuracy of EUS tumor (T) and node (N) staging, and to identify the histopathological factors influencing accuracy based on the detailed tumor depth of gastric cancer. METHODS In total, 309 patients with gastric cancer with confirmed patho...

متن کاملStaging laparoscopy for gastric cancer.
The growing role of multimodal treatment plans for advanced gastric cancer has contributed to the development of more accurate preoperative staging strategies. The high diagnostic efficacy of video-laparoscopy as regards the M factor has been reported by many; preoperative laparoscopy therefore permits to avoid unhelpful surgical exploration in case of peritoneal dissemination of tumor or liver...
